Hardware versus software

Noget lignende kunne siges at kendetegne video...'

Citat hentet i Andreas Broegger: 'Video/Information/Software', 2005. Planlagt udgivelse i antologien 'Tid, der flyver, syn der svaever' (ed. Kern & Christensen). Det Kgl. Kunstakademi.

Tine og Nettska living out their rusty punkmusician-routines on the fantastic instruments

Labs' Tesla Coil:

Fantastic playground behind the rusty grid. Looked a bit like Frankenstein's Laboratorium. Unfortunately I have no pictures of the lightning and flash you could make with this thing,or recording of the loud sounds - but if you have a chance to experience the Tesla Coil in action- do it! Build by the guys from Lab, Vesterbrogade 107 in Copenhagen.

FEED-ME

FEED-ME. ActionAlgorithm for a movie filmed by cellphone. by Schack Lindemann, Annette Finnsdottir and Pipaluk Supernova (2006):

An ActionAlgorithm encouraging the visitors at HalfMachine 06 to film three movs with their cellphones: You get the ActionAlgorithm, when you pay to get into the Grey Hall.

When you've finished filming - you can upload the movs by bluetooth to the computer in the video.netbar. You can upload by bluetooth anywhere in the eventspace but to visualize and underscore the Action and to explain - go to the sign by the bar and do the Action here. The computer is named Feed-me on your cellphone-display.

All the cellphone-movs created by the visitors will - by an automator-process - be cut together in the computer to one long movie and will be displayed in a loop on the white sail above the bar.

In this way there will be a realtime documentation of the event created by the visitors, there will be a visual for the guests in the bar and there will be an inestimable documentary of HalfMachine06 for posterity.

As an inspiration we used the FluxusArtist Mieko aka Chieko Shiomis poetic EventScores like 'Portrait Piece' (1963), 'Falling Event' (1963), 'Event for the Midnight' (oct.el.sept.1963), 'Passing Music for a Tree' (1964), 'Shadow Piece' (1963) and 'Music for Two Players II (1963) but the ActionAlgorithm for FEED-ME HalfMachine06 sounds like this:

Use your cellphone.
Take three still or moving images:
