Random Portraits is recorded on mobile phones. New
media artist Annette Finnsdottir (DK/ICE) and soundartist
Darren Copeland (CAN) didn’t know each other at first; –
From the audio-clips sent by Annette and the videoclips
sent by Darren – they created this artwork. By using
a programmed computer-based generator to ‘event-scores’
they challenged each other. The answer to the question
”Where are you?” was a way of exchanging information
inspired by the Fluxus mailart and event-scores from
the 1960’s.
Random Portraits is a part of the performance series
commissioned by Iben Bentzen, AGM DISCOMPACT
and was presented at AirPlay, Copenhagen.
